Have you ever wondered why is that orange bird on the head of other players and how they got it there? Well, you don't have to wonder around anymore, here is a guide for your new, stange adventures with Pepe. Yes, Pepe - that's his name apparently.
You can start your fun trips together down the lane of Draenor dungeons & raids, and whilst you do that you can accomplish some great achievements too!
Let's start it!
Where you can find this friendly bird? He is merrily sitting on a tree in your Garrison, whistling and bobbing his head around in Level 1 Alliance Garrison on the tree to the left of the tent that houses your command table, Level 2 Alliance Garrison on the tree directly behind the flight path, Level 3 Alliance Garrison on the tree between the two northernmost large and medium buildings to the right of your Town Hall.
(For advanced players /tar pepe whilst making sure targets are ticked to be shown on the minimap.)
Once you found him, you can get him by standling underneath the branch jumping up and clicking on him or simply - if you are a priest - by levitating. Unfortunatelly sitting on a mount is not high enough to reach him.
Once you got him to sit on your head, he will stay there for one hour OR until your character dies. Be careful as for achievements you need to kill certain dungeon and raid bosses whilst Pepe is on your head ! Means your toon cannot die before you kill the boss, or you are within the one hour buff-time frame.)
What can you do whilst riding with Pepe? The lates patch comes with a long and hard achievement called 'What A Strange, Interdimensional Trip It's Been' (it can be tracked under the Dungeon & Raid achievement tab - the last achievement at the bottom) and rewards you with a permanent Pepe toy 'Trans-Dimensional Bird Whistle' - so no more jumpin under certain trees anymore.
This achievement requires you to walk Pepe through your murder-filled adventures in all the various Draenor dungeons, raids and world bosses whilst expose him to a number of psychotic, genocidal, toxic, fungal, arcane crazed bosses that even tanks have trouble surviving, and a highly aggressive living mountain - to name just a few dangers...
How to defeat all the bosses with this bird on the top?
Some bosses are easier to get done with others - they been ranked roughly in terms of degrees of difficulty at the end of this post.
Make sure you click on Pepe just right before you enter your instance or taking your instance queue to ensure you have the largest window of time in which to kill your desired bosses. Don't worry, you can re-obtain Pepe as many times as needed to get these bosses all done.
If you lose your Pepe buff partway through an instance, before you get to the required boss, you could always teleport out to your Garrison, re-click on Pepe, and teleport back in (letting your group know ahead of time, of course).
Boss ranking EASY:
Gug'rokk - The last boss in Bloodmaul Slag Mines. Simple just don't stand in fire and kill the adds.
Teron'gor - The last boss in Auchindoun. The main things to avoid here are standing in his Rain of Fire and interrupting Chaos Bolt. Make sure you kite the Infernal if it's fixated on you.
Skulloc - Mainly, make sure you are hidden behind the boxes during his bombing phase until someone took aggro on him.
Ner'zhul - The last boss in Shadowmoon Burial Grounds. Just stay out of the frontal smash and the large ground effect during the Ritual of Bones phase. Mark and kill the skeleton add in time.
High Sage Viryx - The last boss in Skyreach. Kill adds picking up random party members and avoid the lens flare on on the ground. Kargath Bladefist (on LFR)- First boss in Highmaul. Don't stand in fire, and if you are randomly selected to go up, avoid bombs. On other difficulties, you should choose to go to the stands since you'll be less likely to be the Beserker Rage or Tiger target.
Boss ranking MEDIUM: Skylord Tovra - The last boss in Grimrail Depot. Avoiding others spears/traps on you and electrical floor. Yalnu - The last boss in The Everbloom. Ensure you free trapped NPC from the entangled vines and you stepping on the head of the flowers before they spawn. Warlord Zaela - The last boss in Upper Blackrock Spire. Avoid the person upon whom Zaela fixates her whirlwind - if they run on top of you, you can take fatal damage. The protodrake's breath the other thing to not standing in. Brackenspore - Boss in Highmaul. Make sure your group is adequate at clearing moss, destroy infectios mushroom and healing up healing mushrooms to top health. Ko'ragh (on LFR)- Penultimate boss in Highmaul. Make sure you stay well away from people but in range with healers. Do not soak! Hans'gar and Franzoks - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Operator Thogar - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Avoid trains - plan and simple. Beastlord Darmac - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Avoid being Pinned Down since that means you'll have to rely on your raid to free you. Also stay spread out lest you gain several stacks of Rend and Tear.
The Butcher (on LFR) - Boss in Highmaul. Ensure you are always in the correct group so you don't die to the stacking bleed.
Boss ranking HARD:
Oregorger - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Avoid the Goren at all costs and dont stand in anything suspicios!
Phemos - Boss in Highmaul. Stay out of fire. Tectus - Boss in Highmaul. Make sure you avoid the Crystalline Barrage at all costs, including making sure others don't run it over you - this ability is deadly. Imperator Mar'gok - Final boss in Highmaul. I'd recommend doing this on LFR difficulty since blowing up mines there doesn't do raid damage. Avoid mines and the many other sources of damage in this fight. It is more complicated than most of the other bosses on this list, so ensure you can stay safe. Blast Furnace - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Another boss with lots of things to avoid. Make sure you aren't stnading in fire, on bombs, near exploding adds, or near others with Volatile Fire. The Iron Maidens - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Make sure you avoid the Turret explosions, and don't go up on the boat. Kromog - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Please see our Kromog Strategy Guide for more information. Gruul - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Never be in front of the boss. Also, ensure you don't get shattered. Flamebender Ka'graz - Boss in Blackrock Foundry. Never be alone for the Molten Torrent - you must split this damage with others or you will die. Don't get caught in the cutter between the Cinderwolves. Blackhand - Final boss in Blackrock Foundry. Make sure you execute all the personal responsibility portions properly, and don't let others do things like explode their bombs on you or run behind you with Marked for Death. Drov the Ruiner - World boss in northern Gorgrond. Avoid the rolling Goren. Tarlna the Ageless - World boss in southern Gorgrond. Avoid the frontal cone and the adds. Rukhmar - World boss in Spires of Arak. Make sure your group is killing adds, since these can add up quickly. Use personal healing whilst Loose Quills.
I hope, this article was helping you to find more fun and purpose in your daily game. And to be honest, if getting a permanent bird sitting on your head is not purpuse, than what it ? ;)
Have a good time finding Pepe and see you soon in-game!
